David Clarkson scored twice and Ilya Kovalchuk netted the eventual game-winning goal, while Johan Hedberg made 23 saves for the win, giving the Devils sole possession of first overall in the Eastern Conference. James Neal scored the Penguins only goal.

CHICAGO SUN-TIMES/THE TENNESSEAN: Corey Crawford made 17 saves for the shutout as the Chicago Blackhawks blanked the Nashville Predators 3-0. Marcus Kruger, Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane were the goalscorers for the Blackhawks, who widened their lead atop the Western Conference by five points.

DETROIT NEWS/LOS ANGELES TIMES: Jonathan Ericsson’s goal with five seconds left in the game lifted the Detroit Red Wings to a 3-2 win over the Los Angeles Kings. Pavel Datsyuk and Damien Brunner opened the scoring for the Wings, but the Kings rallied back with goals by Anze Kopitar and Alec Martinez before Ericsson potted the game winner.

BOSTON HERALD/BUFFALO NEWS: A power-play goal by Patrice Bergeron snapped a 1-1 tie and stood as the winner as the Boston Bruins beat the Buffalo Sabres 3-1.  Ryan Miller made 36 saves in a losing cause for the Sabres, who saw their winning streak ended at two games.

NEW YORK DAILY NEWS/ TAMPA TRIBUNE: Carl Hagelin scored twice, Rick Nash had a two-point game (1G, 1A) and Henrik Lundqvist made 19 saves as the NY Rangers cruised to a 5-1 win over the Tampa Bay Lightning. Vincent Lecavalier scored the Lightning’s only goal.

CSNPHILLY.COM: Former Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Luke Schenn will face off against his former team for the first time tonight in Toronto when the Philadelphia Flyers square off against the Leafs.

DALLAS MORNING NEWS: Loui Eriksson hopes his recent goal against the Anaheim Ducks helps him regain his scoring touch. Prior to the Ducks game, he scored only twice in ten games.
