BOSTON GLOBE/PHILLY.COM: Tuukka Rask made 23 saves as the Boston Bruins blanked a listless Philadelphia Flyers 3-0, handing the latter their third straight loss and generating speculation changes could soon be coming to their roster.

ARIZONA REPUBLIC/STAR-TELEGRAM: Goals by Shane Doan and Rob Klinkhammer were all the Phoenix Coyotes needed as they edged the Dallas Star 2-1. Jaromir Jagr scored the Stars only goal. Coyotes forward Martin Hanzal could face supplemental discipline for a late hit on Stars forward Jamie Benn.

NEWSDAY/WASHINGTON POST: John Tavares scored two late goals to carry the NY Islanders to a 5-2 victory over the Washington Capitals.

COLUMBUS DISPATCH/DETROIT NEWS: The Columbus Blue Jackets won their season series over the Detroit Red Wings for the first time, downing the Wings 3-0. Blue Jackets forward Vaclav Prospal received a 10-minute misconduct for chirping Detroit’s Justin Abdelkader by pointing to the scoreboard.

STLTODAY.COM/MERCURYNEWS.COM: Vladimir Sobotka’s hat trick lifted the St. Louis Blues to a 4-3 overtime win over the San Jose Sharks.

STARTRIBUNE.COM/THE TENNESSEAN: Matt Cullen scored in a shootout as the Minnesota Wild nipped the Nashville Predators 2-1. The Predators lost winger Colin Wilson, who left the game early in the second period with an upper-body injury.

NEW YORK DAILY NEWS: Roman Hamrlik won’t be in the NY Rangers lineup for their Sunday tilt against his former team, the Washington Capitals. Hamrlik, claimed off waivers last week, has to work on his conditioning.
