Nathan Horton listed as day-to-day.

BOSTON GLOBE: Bruins winger Nathan Horton is day-to-day with an apparent left shoulder injury and is uncertain for Game Two on Saturday. It’s expected Tyler Seguin could replace Horton.

SPECTOR’S NOTE: Horton’s injury is a serious blow to the Bruins offense, as he’s their second-highest scorer in this year’s playoffs. It does, however, provide an opportunity for Seguin, who’s seen limited ice time throughout this year’s playoffs.

CSN CHICAGO: The Blackhawks are grateful for the extra day off following their marathon overtime Game One victory over the Bruins.

SPECTOR’S NOTE: So are the Bruins. That game was a tough slog for both clubs.

THE GLOBE & MAIL: James Mirtle believes Evgeni Malkin’s new contract could set the bar for other superstar contracts under the new CBA. Malkin yesterday re-signed an eight-year, $76 million contract with the Pittsburgh Penguins, well below the league’s cap 20 percent cap maximum.

SPECTOR’S NOTE: In the short term, yes, but over the course of this CBA (especially if it last the full ten-year term), that bar could be raised.

NEW YORK POST: Rangers defenseman Michael Del Zotto underwent his second sports hernia surgery in 25 months.

SPECTOR’S NOTE: That could explain his poor performance in the Rangers series against the Bruins.

ARIZONA REPUBLIC: The latest on the seemingly never-ending saga of the sale of the Phoenix Coyotes.

THE GLOBE AND MAIL: Dallas Star prospect Scott Winkler was found dead in his parent’s home in Norway, while Oilers prospect Kristians Pelss is missing after reportedly jumping off a bridge in Latvia.

SPECTOR’S NOTE: Sincere condolences to their families.
