SPECTOR’S NOTE: Gagner could be re-signed before his case goes to arbitration. The good news for Oilers fans is he’s now ineligible to receive an offer sheet from a rival club. As for Perron, he’s not the big, physical power forward the Oilers could use at forward, but his play-making skills should provide a boost to their offense.

SPECTOR’S NOTE: The trio could be re-signed before their arbitration hearing, but no other NHL team this year had three of their best players opting for salary arbitration, which raised a few eyebrows yesterday.
