EDMONTON JOURNAL: Last minute call-up Richard Bachman made 47 saves as the Oilers gained a point in a 2-1 shootout loss to the LA Kings.

SPECTOR’S NOTE: Devan Dubnyk’s sore ankle aside, Bachman’s performance earns him the next start. They won’t go with a struggling Jason Labarbera.

WINNIPEG FREE PRESS: The Jets woeful powerplay (0-26 over the last eight games) let them down again, blowing a 2-1 lead to fall 3-2 to the Colorado Avalanche.  Jets defenseman Paul Postma, meanwhile, is sidelined indefinitely after doctors discovered a blood clot in his leg.

OTTAWA SUN: The Senators suffered their third straight loss on home ice falling 5-2 to the San Jose Sharks.

CALGARY HERALD: Curtis Glencross ended a six-game goalless drought by switching back to his old Easton stick to score against the Washington Capitals during the Flames 5-2 win Saturday.

 TORONTO STAR: The Maple Leafs hope forwards Joffrey Lupul (deep bone bruise) and Nikolai Kulemin (broken bone in his foot) can return to action in their upcoming Western road swing.

MONTREAL GAZETTE: Canadiens goalie coach Stephane Waite’s work was evident at both ends of the ice in Saturday’s Sharks-Canadiens game.  Waite was the goalie coach in Chicago when Antti Niemi was a Blackhawk.

VANCOUVER SUN: The Canucks are coming off a strong road trip.
