SPECTOR’S NOTE: Isaac notes the pros and cons, pointing out that most advanced stats tend to favor forwards over defensemen. As I’ve noted before, advanced stats are a useful tool for measuring performance, but they’re not the end-all and be-all. Hockey analytics cannot be dismissed but neither should it be used as the primary means for evaluating performance.
