The New Jersey Devils traded goaltender Akira Schmid and forward Alexander Holtz to the Vegas Golden Knights for forward Paul Cotter and a 2025 third-round pick.

    • Tanev’s rights to Toronto. Gotta wonder what Tree will offer him.

      • 3×8

      • Or 3 x 7, seeing as how he can’t sign for 8.

      • Robidas getting lonely?

      • @shoreorrpark, he can sign for 8 years. Tanev is, right now, a Toronto Maple Leaf, until July 1. They can now sign him for up to 8 years (until July 1 at least).

  3. Should be able to sign Stamkos & extend Hedmon as well, as well as regaining a little draft capital.
There is defence depth but only time will tell if there is a good third pairing or just half a dozen depth defencemen. Also will have to go to the FA market for a fourth line; but that does not seem too daunting a task….and backup goal is a question. So the work is not done in Tampa; and there is always the possibility that bad blood has come up and the Stamkos issue will be a replacement. Fanbase is waiting and hoping.

    • Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman speculated the Bolts could also be planning to sign Jake Guentzel if they’re unable to get Stamkos under contract by July 1.

      Reply
      • I’m sure Guentzel wouldn’t be mad about that if it came to fruition.

    • Richard, conventional wisdom would say that Sergachev was traded to accommodate a new contract for Stamkos. in reality, it would be difficult to convince me he wasn’t traded because he is not worth 8 1/2 million dollars for another seven years on an aging hockey team. They had to get some draft capital. Picking up Geekie Will probably be equivalent or better than a first round draft pick that they don’t have until 2026.Moser Won’t scare anybody with his size, but he might embarrass you with his smarts. Stamkos is going to free agency because he in his heart knows he’s not likely going to play another five years. With Tampa Bay offering him eight years to minimize the dollar amount he would not get paid as much as half of that if he retires. If somebody offers him $7 million-$8 million for four years, that’s the best he’ll likely get free agency and he probably will take it. But the lightning can do a lot with the $5 million that they’re not spending that somebody else will.

  4. Can’t believe TB traded Sergachev? That guy is a good defenseman. Would like the Avalanche to get another Dman like that!! Will be interesting to see how Colorado is today in on any action? Lots of deals seem to be going down, lol!!!🙃

  5. Oh lord. The Penguins traded for 32 year old Kevin Hayes and a draft pick. To quote “Colonel Sanders” (the professor in “The Waterboy”) “All right. Let’s hear what Mama has to say.”

Time to grab the reading glasses and popcorn.

    • Pens trying to make sure everyone has the same speed…. limit

      Reply
    • All Pens got was taller and bigger (on average)

Other GMs have seen what Wadell and Grier (just to name 2) did to Dubas and they are scrambling to take advantage if an easy mark

The only way this works out for Pens is if Dubas can dump (without giving up too much) Smith, Accairi and Eller; AND somehow Hayes has s massive resurgence year

As at now; they’ll throw Hayes out at 3rd line Center ; and pay $2.5 M to have Eller as a 4th line Center

      Jeff Carter part Dieux??

$3.6 M for Hayes is ridiculous

At the very least ; Dubas should have insisted that Accairi head to them

Every move Dubas makes gives less incentive for Crosby to stay

He will. But only because he lives and breathes Penguins

This move also is a disincentive for any productive UFAs to sign here

      Dubas is killing out franchise

Use that 2nd (from Hayes trade) ; add Gruden or Broz to get Columbus to take Smith; Eller, Accairi for Laine

  6. Hayes to the Penguins, lol.

    Guys a complete disinterested floater.

Another broken down has been never was joins the window closed Pens.

Pittsburgh just got older & slower, if that was even possible. The destruction of the Penguin carcass continues.

    Scooby Dubas strikes again.

The entire Metro Division applauds Dubious for yet another brilliant move.

    • Dubas just got spanked in another trade

After GMs saw how Grier and Waddell literally manhandled Dubas; they are all lining up for a piece (of the easy action)

He’s ruining Crosby’s last years and the hopes of all of us

      If I were Crosby, I wouldn’t extend

    • Again, not Pengy

Again , have never, will never like the Leafs

Hate them even more now for them dumping Dubas on us

I’m wondering; when did Pengy last post on here?

Was it at the same time Dubas was hired? I hope that didn’t give Pengy a heart attack

I certainly hope he is ok and I apologize to anybody here who was in any way offended.

Heart disease is serious, and definitely should not have been used in a jesting comment

        Sorry

      • Mmmmkay Mr. Mackey. “Not Pengy” 8787, “the” Pengy stopped ranting (posting) in exceptionally 8787esque fashion, about particular and very specific players right before you picked up the torch and ran with it in a very (coincidental?) Pengy-esque fashion. We-thinks the co-inky dink isn’t so co-inky dinky.

      • I’m on board. I wasn’t. But now I am. He is pengy.

I thought you had gone to that great frozen pond in the sky.

Nope. Here foolin us this whole time. You got me.
